DAILY PAPER
The once sneaker culture blog founded by three childhood friends in 2012 is now a menswear, womenswear and lifestyle brand focused on creating high-quality pieces. The Amsterdam-based brand is helmed by Hussein Suleiman, Jefferson Osei and Abderrahmane Trabsin, who are of Somalian, Ghanaian and Morrocan descent.
Daily Paper wants to proudly showcase their founders’ roots and break down the negative stereotypes associated with Africa. They do so by adopting a contemporary approach, mixing African-inspired prints with modern silhouettes and Dutch design elements. With heritage-inspired collections combined with Afrofuturism elements such as daring fabrics and colors, Daily Paper celebrates Africa’s rich history whilst looking to the future.
Selling in 29 countries and over 200 multi-brand stores, Daily Paper has succeeded in authentically translating African heritage, and in creating a global movement that supports underrepresented people.
The brand’s latest initiative underlines their commitment to inspire the youth and cultivate the next generation of leaders. In partnership with Off-White, Surf Ghana and Limbo Accra, they are building Ghana’s first ever skate park. Freedom Skatepark will be a hang-out spot, but they also hope that it will allow Ghana to participate in future Olympic skateboarding events.
