KENNETH IZE
The label was founded in 2013 by Kenneth Ize, with a mission to create and inspire future traditions.
The Austrian-Nigerian designer merges both of his cultures into his work, combining new design with Nigerian tailoring techniques.
Throughout his collections, textiles take the center stage, and his bold aesthetic manifests through colorful prints, androgynous silhouettes and workwear influences.
The young designer uses clothing as symbol of Nigerian culture, with the use of Asa-oke for example, a century-old weaving practice. With a broad network of textile artisans across Nigeria, Ize benefits from a unique know-how and preserves this heritage.
Kenneth Ize made his Paris Fashion week debut earlier this year, during which he presented his Autumn/Winter 2020 ready-to-wear collection. “I’d just like to change people’s perspective and be very inclusive. It was just the perfect time to show in Paris and also inspire the African youth like myself.”, he told Teen Vogue in an interview.
