The brand launched by Brazil-born, Paris-based designer Marco Ribeiro serves as a tool for joy, unity and positivity while pushing the boundaries of wearability.
Marco Ribeiro grew up watching his parents make garments in their atelier, and later moved to Argentina to study fashion. His bold and bright designs pay tribute to the different styles found in Brazil and present a new point of view. With his oversized silhouettes, Marco Ribeiro wants his clothes to disrupt daily environments and expose their limitations. The circles, which are a recurrent shape in his designs, are a form of protest, symbolizing union, and equality.
Using haute couture, architecture and handcrafting techniques, Marco Ribeiro creates garments that can serve as either art objects or wearable pieces. In his latest collection called “Epiphany”, the designer offers versatile and modern pieces inspired by his roots. The geometric accents in his designs are inspired by the work or Brazilian visual artist Hélio Oitica.
Identity is a recurring theme in his work, and he wants to promote the notions of acceptance, without prejudice.
Marco Ribeiro sees garments as objects that can be experimented with and that can convey messages of hope. With creations that blur the line between fashion and art, the brand dares us to be freer and to live in the present moment.
